Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of CarsGuyana (the "Service"), an online marketplace where people in Guyana list and browse vehicles for sale. The Service is operated by Caribbean Dynetics, a sole proprietorship registered in Ontario, Canada ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
1. What CarsGuyana is, and what it isn't
CarsGuyana is a venue. We provide a place for sellers to advertise vehicles and for buyers to find them. We are not a party to any sale between a buyer and a seller, we don't own, inspect, or verify the vehicles listed, and we don't handle payment for vehicles. Any deal is strictly between the people involved.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or post a listing.
- Give accurate information and keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- You can delete your own listings at any time from My Listings, and ask us to close your account by emailing admin@caribbeandynetics.com.
3. Your listings and content
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and promote your listing (including its photos and details) on and for the Service, for as long as it is up.
You promise that your listing is truthful, that you own the vehicle or are authorised to sell it, that you have the right to use the photos, and that it doesn't break any law. You must not post:
- vehicles that are stolen, subject to undisclosed liens, or that you can't legally sell;
- misleading, fake, or duplicate listings, or listings used to collect deposits for cars that don't exist;
- content that is unlawful, abusive, hateful, or infringes someone else's rights;
- spam, scraped content, or anything that interferes with the Service or other users.
We may remove any listing or suspend any account that we reasonably believe breaks these terms or harms others, with or without notice.
4. Buying safely
We strongly encourage buyers to inspect a vehicle in person, confirm the seller's ownership documents and the vehicle's registration and transfer paperwork, and to meet in a public place. Don't send money to someone you haven't met for a vehicle you haven't seen. We can't guarantee any listing, seller, or buyer.
5. Featured listings (paid upgrade)
Sellers can pay to have a listing shown in the "Featured cars" window. There are two options, shown with current prices on our Pricing page:
- Featured for 14 days — the listing is featured for 14 days from when payment is confirmed.
- Featured until the car sells — the listing stays featured until the seller deletes it or it is removed under these terms.
Featuring a listing improves its visibility but doesn't guarantee a sale, a number of views, or any particular placement. If a listing is removed for breaking these terms, its featured status ends with it.
6. Payments
Paid upgrades are sold by Paddle.com Market Limited, our Merchant of Record, which processes the payment and handles applicable sales tax. Prices are shown in US dollars; any amount in Guyanese dollars is only an approximate guide. Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms apply to your purchase. We may change our prices at any time; a change doesn't affect an upgrade you have already bought. See our Refund Policy for how refunds and payment problems are handled.
7. Acceptable use
Don't attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the Service; don't use bots or scrapers on it without our written permission; and don't use it to harass or defraud anyone.
8. Disclaimers and limits on our liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that listings are accurate. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from a transaction between users, from a listing's content, or from your use of the Service, and our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or CAD $100 if you paid nothing). Nothing in these terms excludes liability that can't legally be excluded.
9. Ending your use
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date above, and continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction, except where mandatory local consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
